From May 3rd to 5th, the MICA Center was invited to participate in the 8th MARitime Information Sharing eXercise (MARISX) organized by IFC Singapore. This 3 day exercise is the perfect opportunity for shipping partners, navies and coastguards to share their experience and train in information sharing while going through real life inspired scenarios.
Presentations on cybersecurity, IUU fishing, maritime terrorism and general updates on the different MARSEC issues provided further sharing opportunities amongst the approximatively 100 participants from 29 countries around the globe.
The MDAT GoG was also given the opportunity to share the lessons learned from one of the latest incidents in the Gulf of Guinea.
We thank our partners for the fruitful exchanges. Nothing beats in person meetings and discussions amongst allies and partners. It was especially lovely to meet members of the Voluntary Naval Cooperation based in Singapore and hear their feedback.
