The LNG ALLIANCE arrived in Brest on 17 February for a technical stop at the Damen shipyard.
During 35 days, important control and maintenance operations, afloat and in the basin, will be carried out.
The 290 meters long LNG ALLIANCE, which can transport 153,500 m3 of liquefied gas, has begun inerting its cargo tanks. A major project to install a ballast water treatment system is also planned for the period at berth.
Taking advantage of this technical stop, one of the captains of the LNG tanker invited the staff of the MICA Center to visit the vessel on Thursday 03 March 2022.
From the bridge to the engine room, including a visit to a tank with a capacity of 42,000 m3 of LNG, the delegation was able to discover the characteristics of this unusual vessel.
This visit was an opportunity for the civilian and military sailors to exchange on naval cooperation and to further strengthen the privileged links between the French Navy and the commercial shipping industry.
